Lock Operating instructions for ES Series Safes
(ES913, ES1114, ES411, & WES2113) |
To open the safe:
To open the door of the safe for the first time: Press 1, 5,
9, A and open
the door by pulling the chrome handle.
To change the digital combination lock code:
- Locate
the button on the inside of the door near the hinges.
- Press the
button, then release it and you will hear a beep.
- Now press between
3 and 8 numbers that you wish to use as a combination, and confirm
by pressing the letter “B”. Be sure to write them
down immediately, so you don’t forget how to open the safe.
- To open the safe, push the numbers you have selected followed by
the letter “A”, and pull the chrome handle.
- If you or an intruder use the incorrect group of numbers, it will
not open and you will see multiple yellow flashes and hear beeps.
If the wrong
group of numbers has been used once, you must wait 20 seconds to
try again. If the wrong group of numbers is used again, you must wait
over
5 minutes
to try again. More incorrect codes will freeze the system for one
(1) hour !!!!!!! and the keypad will not respond when pressed.
(See Override Key Instructions)
After entering your secret combination, you have 5 seconds to pull
the chrome handle before the mechanism relocks. If it relocks, enter
your
combination again.
To change batteries:
Open the safe door with your combination
and pull the chrome handle. Remove the sliding battery cover plate on
the back of the door. Once
inside, batteries
are revealed.
Replace the weak batteries and reverse the procedure.
CAUTION: Be careful
not to damage the wiring in the safe while removing the batteries.
Battery
Replacement Warning:
If the batteries are low, a RED light will
warn you immediately! To test the batteries, just press “B”.
The RED light will start to flash immediately if the batteries are low.
If nothing happens, it means
that the batteries are OK. When the electronic system signals that the
batteries should be changed, you have approximately (1) one to (2) two
months of service before the batteries are dead.
Key Override Instructions to open the safe:
For your convenience, there is a manual key override system provided
on your safe. If you forget or misplace your combination, remove the
round
plastic cover located below or across from the keypad. Behind the plate
you will find a key lock. Insert the chrome key and turn it to the
left (counter-clockwise) and hold while pulling the chrome handle.
This will
manually open your safe at any time.
This may also be used to open the
safe if the batteries have gone totally dead. Note: Be sure the chrome handle is in the fully closed position. If
the handle is pulled up before the combination is completely entered,
the mechanism will not release and the door can not be opened.
